La Casa Resort Marina: Over 20 Years of Performance on Okanagan Lake

La Casa Resort Marina: Over 20 Years of Performance on Okanagan Lake

A Floating Dock System Built for Rough Waters

Located on beautiful Okanagan Lake, the marina at La Casa Resort Marina is no ordinary dock installation. With 104 berths, open water exposure, and depths reaching 50–60 feet at the end of the dock system, the marina faces demanding conditions year after year.

More than two decades after installation, the marina continues to demonstrate the long-term durability, modularity, and resilience of the CANDOCK floating dock system.

Designed to Adapt

Recently, the marina underwent a major reconfiguration project to accommodate the installation of new custom pilings. Thanks to the modular design of the CANDOCK system, the team was able to reconfigure the existing dock layout rather than replace the entire marina.

This flexibility is one of the key advantages of modular floating docks, especially for marinas operating in changing environments or evolving operational needs.

“People really like the reconfigured dock, The channels are wider.”  the marina team shared during the interview.

The ability to adapt the layout while continuing to use the existing dock infrastructure highlights the long-term value and versatility of the system.

Proven Durability After 20+ Years

In harsh marine environments, longevity matters. After more than 20 years in service, the marina team still expects another 10–15 years of use from the dock system.

For a marina exposed to rough waters and constant seasonal conditions, that kind of lifespan speaks volumes about the durability and engineering behind the product.

CANDOCK floating docks are designed to withstand demanding waterfront conditions while maintaining structural integrity and appearance over time — helping marinas reduce long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Built for Extreme Conditions With Minimal Maintenance

One of the biggest advantages highlighted by the marina team is how well the dock system has handled extreme environmental conditions over the years.

“We’re on the edge of the desert,” the customer explained. “So it’s extreme heat in the summer, direct sun, and it’s a pretty nasty sun in that area. And yet it stands up good and the plastics have stood up good as well.”

Unlike traditional wood dock systems that often require sanding, painting, staining, or ongoing repairs, the CANDOCK system has remained remarkably low maintenance throughout its lifespan.

Even after more than 20 years, the marina team says the docks still look nearly brand new.

The customer shared “I would recommend to a resort — rather than a wood or aluminum wood-composite dock — look at ours after 20 years and it looks like brand new.”

For resorts and marina operators, minimizing maintenance while preserving appearance is a major operational advantage, especially in high-traffic environments exposed to sun, water, and changing weather conditions.

Customer Satisfaction and Industry Recommendation

Beyond the dock’s technical performance, the marina team expressed strong satisfaction with the overall experience and long-term value of the product.

“We’re happy customers,” the customer explained. “And I’m probably a pretty good example of your product. When someone’s looking at a reasonably good-sized marina, I think we’re a pretty good story.”

The team also emphasized their willingness to recommend the system to other marina and resort owners considering a long-term waterfront solution.

“If you ever want a customer to give me a call, you can use us as a reference. Feel free.”

For CANDOCK, feedback like this reinforces the importance of delivering floating dock systems that not only perform in challenging environments but continue to satisfy customers decades after installation.

A Marina Asset That Adds Value

Beyond performance, the marina team emphasized the visual appeal and professional appearance of the dock system.

“Absolutely,” they explained when asked if the dock improved the efficiency, safety, and appearance of the resort. “Looks very professional. It’s an asset… probably the nicest dock on the lake.”

At resorts and marinas, dock infrastructure plays an important role in both customer experience and property value. A clean, modern, and professionally designed marina can leave a lasting impression on boaters, residents, and visitors alike.

For La Casa Resort Marina, the dock system has become more than infrastructure — it’s a defining feature of the waterfront experience.

Why Modular Floating Docks Matter for Marinas

For marina owners and waterfront developers, modular floating dock systems offer several long-term advantages:

  • Easy reconfiguration and expansion

  • Adaptability to changing water conditions

  • Long service life

  • Reduced maintenance requirements

  • Professional appearance for resorts and marinas

  • Improved marina accessibility and navigation

  • Resistance to UV exposure and harsh climates

Projects like La Casa Resort Marina demonstrate how a well-designed floating dock system can continue delivering value for decades, even in challenging open-water conditions.
